Diesel engines installed in trucks, machinery, road machines, building and agricultural equipment due to its capacity, use significantly more air than cars. Yearly mileage in kilometers or moto hours is also a few times higher. In order to assure long lasting of the engine, the expectations placed on the air filters are much higher. Required contaminant filtering efficiency comes up to 99,9% and is higher than for cars. Also the contaminants absorptivity must be high due to long periods between cartridge replacements (several times longer than in the case of cars). All these factors lead to large sizes and solid construction of air filters for trucks, and the size of the filtering medium reaches up to 10m².
